Maya had often heard strange whispers coming from the dense forest behind her village, but she never believed the stories—until one terrifying night. She
had gone into the jungle to collect herbs for her grandmother when suddenly the wind stopped, and an unnatural silence wrapped around her.
As Maya walked deeper, she felt as if someone was watching her. The trees seemed to move on their own, their shadows stretching like long arms. She tried to turn back, but the
path she came from had vanished. Panic set in.
Suddenly, Maya heard soft footsteps behind her. When she looked back, no one was there—only fog slowly rising from the ground. The footsteps grew louder... closer. She
could feel warm breath on her neck. Terrified, she ran, but the jungle twisted into a maze, trapping her.
Then she saw it—a faint glowing figure of a woman, dressed in torn white clothes, floating between the trees. Her hollow eyes stared directly at Maya. The ghostly figure whispered, “You entered the cursed night… now you belong to the forest.”
Maya screamed, but her voice disappeared into the darkness. By morning, villagers found her basket near the forest—but Maya was never seen again
